--Along with local trails you can also attend large events like regional hashes (Pacific North West Inter Hash, Texas Inter Hash, Gold Rush H3, and so many more), national hashes (Inter Americas, Nash Hash, Euro Hash, and more), and then you have the biggest one of all the Inter Hash. All these hashes are not just show up for a few hours and you are done, nope! Typically they are a 3 day (Fri, Sat, & Sun) event and most often they have pre and post events with them.--

This blog is about my first Inter America (InterAm) which was in 2009 at Winter Park, Colorado in the USA. This was at a ski resort but in the off season, so no snow just lovely warm weather.
My registration was # 808. I drove my pick-up from Washington State all the way to Colorado (CO) where I picked up a camper trailer to sleep in during the event. The truck windows had been marked up to show off and see just how many hashers I could find on the drive to CO. The Event had two hotels that were completely booked with hashers and closed to the public during this event. Basically the event is everyone checks in on Fri and then there is a gathering to meet. You will get to do 1 or 2 trails (1 Sat and 1 Sun or just 1 on Sat). The trails have different lengths and hardness levels. Most of them run both days unless you pick the “Ball Buster” on Sat. This is just one day and it is super long and hard. At the end of Sat is a dinner and some type of show or entertainment. Sun is the trail and good byes for most.
I had a few friends from Washington like “Wanks with Wolves, Boy Toy, Gay Nor Straight, Butt Chug, Tight Sticky Bush, & Cosmo.” Do you know Cosmo? This hasher gets around… well I mean gets around to a lot of travel hashes. This hasher is very well known throughout the world of hashing. Anyways, I met many other hashers there that I am still friends with today. I met two hashers that were moving from Boston to Seattle WA. They are STD and Spermatologist. The 3 of us met on the Sat trail. We sang so many songs that the circle went on for hours. Come to find out that is one of the longest circles I had ever been a part of! Heck it could have set a new world record, maybe! We even had a passerby on a mountain bike that was a hasher in the past “crash” our circle. Sat Night was a Country Themed event. I was in my sexy cowboy outfit. Yep boots, hat, and fake shotgun! Most people had some type of costume and it was a blast. Sun I really don’t remember much. I assume I loaded up and headed home at some point. Enjoy the photos and the short story of this event.
